How Do You Scan From a Canon MX340 Printer?
To scan from a Canon MX340 printer, download and install MP Navigator EX from the Canon website, open the program, place your document in the scanner, select Photo/Documents and then document type, and press Scan. After the document is scanned, press the Save button.

Install the software
Visit USA.canon.com, and click the link for Support & Drivers. Select Consumer & Home Office from the list of product types. In the search box, enter the model name “PIXMA MX340.” Select Drivers & Software, and click on MP Navigator EX under the list of software. Download the program, and double-click the downloaded file. The installation begins automatically.

Open MP Navigator EX
Once the installation is complete, click on the Windows Start button, select All Programs, find the Canon Utilities folder, and then click on MP Navigator EX to open the program. If you are using Windows 8, type the name of the program into the search box on the Start screen.

Scan and save the document
Once the program is open, select Photos/Documents if you are only scanning one page. If you want to scan multiple pages, click on Stack of Documents. Place a single item or page on the flatbed portion of the scanner, or place a stack in the plastic tray on top of the printer. Then select the document type, and press the Scan button. After the job is complete, press Save to save the scan as a jpeg, or press Save as PDF.
