How Do You Program Your Charter Cable TV Remote Control?
To program a Charter universal remote control, get the code for the device, choose the device and program the device. If there is no code available, it is still possible to program the remote control through a number of steps.
Codes for remotes are usually available in the owner’s manual. URCControl.com lists codes for many different remotes.
After finding the code, turn on the device and press the Device button on the remote control. The remote control blinks once. Press and hold the Setup button until the device key starts to blink. Release the button and point the remote control at the device, and then enter the code. The device button blinks twice. Press the Pwr button. If the code is correct, the device turns off.
If the code is not available, turn on the device and press the TV button one time. After it blinks, press and hold the Setup button until the TV button blinks twice. Press 991, and the device blinks twice. Point the remote control at the television and press the Pwr button once. Press and release the CH+ button until the television turns off. Press the Pwr button, and if the television turns on, press the Setup button to lock in the code.
