In most locations, the passing score for TABE tests is a minimum of 540. The passing score extends to three subject areas on a D level test.
If there is a minimum score of 540, this means an individual is ready to move onto the next step. The next step, after the TABE test, generally entails a good amount of time spent in the Adult Education program; this is where the student starts to cover topics at the higher GED level. A score lower than 540 means that a student may have to spend more time in the TABE class until they reach a satisfactory level.
