The majority party of the House of Representatives in the United States is the Republican party, as of December 2014. The Republican Majority Leader is Representative Kevin McCarthy.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives is Representative John Boehner. In this role, Representative Boehner acts as the leader of the House and is second in line to succeed the President of the United States behind the Vice President.
Democratic leaders also have a role in the House of Representatives. Representative Nancy Pelosi serves as the Democratic Leader and Representative Steny Hoyer serves as the Democratic Whip, who helps to organize the Democrat’s legislative program.
