What Are Kairos Retreat Letters?

Kairos retreat letters are letters of encouragement written by family, friends or anyone who has a relationship with a student who has gone on a Kairos spiritual retreat. Anyone interested in writing to someone on the retreat can write multiple letters. These programs exist in detention facilities as well and should follow the same guidelines.

These letters should be personal and it is often better for them to be written by hand to increase the personal and special nature of these letters. It is a good opportunity to share feelings, guidance and thoughts with the recipient. The people taking the trips are generally gone 3 to 4 days or sometimes just over a weekend, so the letters should be written and sent off in plenty of time for them to arrive during the event. The retreat location can advise the best way to do this.
