The maximum salary in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) is $109,500. There are often multiple players on each team earning the maximum salary. Players supplement their incomes by playing in leagues in China and Russia, where salaries can be 6 to 12 times the maximum WNBA salary, and with endorsement deals.

Unlike NBA players who earn staggering pay checks, women in the WNBA have some of the lowest take-home salaries among professional athletes. Popular NBA players, such as Kobe Bryant and Lebron James, earn more money annually than every single player in the WNBA combined. The minimum rookie salary among the women’s sport is $35,190, while veteran players can make up to a maximum of $109,500.
