The top speed of a Yamaha Raptor 660R is estimated in the range of 80 to 95 miles per hour. The vehicles are equipped with an electronic limiter which does not allow speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

The four-wheeled all terrain vehicle is equipped with a 660 cubic centimeter engine, which is cooled by liquid. At the time of its first release in 2001, the Raptor 660 had the biggest ATV engine on the market. It was designed for multiple terrains and featured a four stroke engine. The Raptor 660 was sold until 2005, and it was replaced by the Raptor 700R in 2006.
