Where Is the DOT Inspection Sticker Located on Semi Trucks?

Federal regulations do not require a specific location on semi-trucks for placement of the periodic inspection sticker or decal, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The driver must know the location of the sticker and supporting documentation.

Upon request, the semi truck driver must be able to produce proof of periodic inspections, explains the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Therefore, the driver must be able to provide a copy of the periodic inspection report and show the inspection sticker’s location. The sticker’s information must be legible and current, and the date of the inspection must be included.
