Who Is Donnie Baker?

Donnie Baker is a humorous character developed by stand-up comedian Ron Sexton. Ron Sexton performs Donnie Baker during nightclub acts as well as on “The Bob & Tom Show,” a syndicated radio show in the United States featuring Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold. In addition to Donnie Baker, Ron Sexton performs other characters on the show, including Floyd the Truck Driver, Kenny Tarmac, Randy, Rick and Coach Ralph Fontaine. Ron Sexton has performed these characters since 2005.

Donnie Baker calls into “The Bob and Tom Show” speaking with a Kentucky accent and typically speaks about topics relevant to the latest news. He tends to relate semi-relevant stories involving his friends, and his calls end with punchlines. He has several catchphrases, including “I swear to God,” “Look it up” and “It’s state law.” While on the phone with Bob and Tom, Donnie Baker is yelled at by Randy, his work supervisor. Donnie Baker also makes appearances with his band Donnie Baker and the Pork Pistols.

When performing stand-up comedy, Ron Sexton designs each show to either include Donnie Baker alongside his band or Donnie Baker followed by Floyd the Trucker and Kenny Tarmac. Ron Sexton began performing with Floyd the Trucker and Kenny Tarmac in 2011.
