Why Did Michael Smith Divorce His Wife Rachel Leslie?

As of 2015, Michael Smith and Rachel Leslie have not disclosed why they separated. Michael and Rachel were partners and have a son together, but were not married. In a 2011 interview, Michael said that he is proud of the way they graciously parted ways in 2009 and still remain best friends. They are raising their son together. Michael married Chastity Smith in 2013. As of 2015, he has three children: Gabe with Rachel, and Ariella and Camille with Chastity.

A chef and writer, Michael Smith is popular for hosting culinary TV shows such as “Chef at Large,” “Chef Michael’s Kitchen,” “Chef at Home,” “The Inn Chef” and “Chopped: Canada.” He found fame as a Canadian, but was born in New York City, New York. In 1991, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. He worked in numerous restaurants worldwide, including in London, the Caribbean, South America and North America.

Smith joined The Inn at Bay Fortune in Fortune Bridge, Prince Edward Island, in 1992. The restaurant was soon recognized as one of the top 10 restaurants in Canada. “The Inn Chef,” his first TV show, debuted in 1998. It first appeared on the Life Network before moving to Food Network Canada. He has also authored numerous books, including “The Best of Chef at Home: Essential Recipes for Today’s Kitchen,” “Open Kitchen: a Chef’s Day at The Inn at Bay Fortune” and “The Inn Chef.”
