Does a Concealed Carry Permit Transfer to Other States?

A concealed carry permit may or may not transfer over to other states depending on the state where an individual received the permit and the state the individual is travelling to, explains USA Carry. An interactive map showing which states permits transfer over to is at the USA Carry website.

Certain states have reciprocity agreements with one another, meaning a concealed carry permit obtained in one of the states is valid in each state that is part of the agreement, states USA Carry. For example, Nevada and West Virginia have a reciprocity agreement, as well as Ohio and Pennsylvania. Some states honor a concealed carry permit without a reciprocity agreement. For example, Georgia honors permits from Montana, Florida, Idaho, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Some states, like New York and California, do not honor permits from other states and only allow residents to possess permits.
