The possible causes of involuntary finger twitching include peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome and a benign essential tremor, according to WebMD. A vitamin B-12 deficiency, low blood sugar and panic attacks can also cause involuntary twitching of the fingers.
Chronic disorders such as epilepsy and multiple sclerosis and spinal conditions such as cervical spinal stenosis can cause fingers to involuntarily twitch, explains WebMD. People suffering from chemical burns, frostbite or thermal burns on the fingers may notice involuntary twitching. Additional causes include overdoing it when exercising, a stroke or mini stroke, rheumatic fever, nerve injuries, Parkinson’s disease and diabetic neuropathy.
