Where Can You Find a List of Retired Doctors?
While there is no comprehensive list of retired physicians, patients of doctors who have retired can contact local and state medical societies to try to gain access to copies of their medical records. Retired physicians can communicate with fellow retired doctors by joining the National Association of Retired Physicians.
If the retired doctor worked with other physicians in a group practice that is still in business, there is a good chance the practice still has access to the records of the retired physician’s patients. Another option for gaining access to medical records after one’s doctor retires is to contact the human resources departments of local hospitals and ask if they are aware of where the doctor’s medical records are stored.
