A Braille keyboard is a special type of keyboard, usually featuring raised dots, that is used by visually impaired people to enter data into the computer. In contrast to the standard keyboard, Braille keyboards have a single key that represents each dot.
To enter a single character into a Braille keyboard, an individual presses a combination of keys at once. A Braille keyboard also includes a space bar just like standard keyboards. However, it is common to find blind people using the standard keyboard instead of the Braille one. They do this after memorizing the keys on the standard keyboard. Braille keyboards are, however, very useful to newly blind individuals who may not have memorized the keys on the standard keyboard.
