In the United States, the standard wood pallet is 48 inches wide, 40 inches deep and 6.4 inches tall. Less common pallet dimensions range from the 36″ by 36″ pallet used in some beverage industries to the 48″ by 48″ pallet used to transport large barrels.

Common international sizes for standard wood pallets are 39.4 by 47.2 inches in Europe and Asia and 44.9 by 44.9 inches in Australia. The 42 by 42-inch and 43.3 by 43.3-inch pallets are widely used in North America, Europe and Asia to facilitate international trade. The standard United States pallet is also widely used in Europe and Asia.
