What Is Africa Known For?
The continent of Africa is known primarily for its natural attractions, including its diverse geography and an abundance of wildlife. According to “National Geographic,” the continent of Africa consists of desert regions, highlands, green plains and rain forests. Some of the largest animals in the world graze throughout the continent, as well.
Visitors clamber to countries in Africa each year to go on safari on the African Savannah or to appreciate the wildlife in the rain forests. Africa is also home to the second highest mountainous peak in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Kilimanjaro alone has several different geographical experiences, such as rain forests, ice and the volcanic formation that makes up the mountain itself. Visitors from around the world travel to the Sahara Desert each year to experience one of the hottest places on earth. Around the continent, animals run freely both in the wild and on large sanctuaries and game preserves. Along with lions, elephants and giraffes, Africa boasts diverse marine life in its range of lakes, seas and oceans.
Countries within the African continent also offer a wide range of cultural diversity. There are hundreds of languages and religions among the many nations within the African continent. Visitors experience a host of different cultural traditions within each country.
